to compare this new BMW to a Night Rod is simply wrong. Like apples to oranges. The night rod is not meant for the long haul but you could tour the world on this new Beemer. And besides the night rod is just plain ugly. Also you say you will take a huge hit in resale. My HD is only 4 years old and is worth about 50% less than what is was brand new. A huge hit for sure. Buy the BMW and ride the wheels off it with no issues at all I bet.

In reply to Fred. Night Rod is more akin to a power crusier like a Ducati Diavel or a Yamaha V-Max. This is more less aimed at HD's air cooled cruiser segment.

It’s really cool, however, I’ll keep my 16 Night Rod Special. More horses, resale value, mystique, and, er, Porsche like performance. In a few years the BMW will be taking a huge hit in resale value. The Harley is about 200 pounds less. Does this mean I don’t like the BMW? Absolutely not. It’s gorgeous for what it is.
