What I was hoping for is that Honda would bring the NT 1100 to the states as I am looking to downsize from the Goldwing. Only time will tell. Also I feel like Honda is becoming my father’s Buick

We sold it less than two months later. The seat is terrible, so we installed a Corbin Dual Tour. The footpegs need to be farther forward so we installed DiPretto forward controls. The windscreen… what windscreen? We installed the Honda taller option, still far too short. So… I took the factory windshield from a Suzuki 650 Burgman, turned it upside down (the side-to side curvature is perfect) , and had it professionally cut to the desired height. It looked great (like a factory touring screen should look) and worked beautifully. After all this, I found that the bike is just physically too small. Even with the forward controls, it is cramped (and I am only 5’10” w/30″ inseam). I could never get comfortable on a long ride. It’s a great bike, especially after our mods, for a small rider; lots of power, cruise control, low seat height, light weight. Bottom line… bought a low mile Yamaha 1900cc Raider, installed a batwing fairing & cruise control, and it fits us so much better.

My Triumph Speedmaster is kitted out similarly but with 60 liters of Hepco & Becker sidecases, and with forwardish controls & a Corbin saddle I can go all day. The Shadow’s a contender though!

A nice flat seat levemounted over the rear fender stretching to the tank would make this a buy. But BUTT hanging bikes are seriously uncomfortable for anyone above 5 foot 8
